Ahead of the Senate’s vote on the bill, scheduled for 21 July 2026, 296 MPs voted on 20 July 2026 in favour of the bill, as amended by MPs and senators, whilst 224 voted against it.
The main amendments are as follows:

• Clarification of the derogation mechanism under Article 2c concerning plant protection products containing substances from the neonicotinoid family or similar substances;
• Reintroduction of the concept of ‘mountain products’ in Article 4;
• removal of the principle of non-regression in agriculture in the management of water resources in Article 5A;
• setting of the maximum number of wolves that may be culled nationwide by ministerial order each year in Article 14;
• reinstatement of Article 15 bis A, aimed at supplementing the objective of protecting public health and the…
