Chemicals products (Omnibus VI) : IMCO-ENVI Committees vote in favor of the provisional agreement

Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) endorsed a provisional agreement on simplifying rules governing the classification, packaging, and labeling of chemicals (CLP), cosmetics, and fertilizers. The vote, held during a joint meeting of the Internal Market and Consumer Protection (IMCO) and Environment (ENVI) committees on July 14, 2026, resulted in 110 votes in favor, 10 against, and five abstentions.

The provisional agreement was reached during the first and final trilogue on June 16, 2026, as part of the Omnibus VI package. Co-rapporteur Dimitris Tsiodras (EPP) described the agreement as one that "delivers meaningful simplification while fully preserving Europe's high standards for health, consumer, and environmental protection."
