FR / Forestry: amendment to the decree on the interministerial delegate following its transfer to the MET

The decree establishing the interministerial delegate for forests, wood and its uses of 05/04/2024 is amended "to take account of the transfer of responsibility for forests from the French Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Food Sovereignty (Maasa) to the French Ministry of Ecological Transition (MET)", by decree of 13/05/2026, published in the Journal officiel of 14/05.

The decree also removes the three-year term limit for the post.

The interministerial delegate, whose post is currently vacant, "promotes, coordinates and monitors the implementation of ecological forest planning, public action to adapt to climate change and the development of wood processing and uses", the decree states.

The remit of the interministerial delegate, who "reports administratively and budgetarily to the minister responsible for forestry", has been expanded to include the implementation of the following public policies:
• adapting the forest to climate change;
• increasing the sustainable management of forests, particularly private forests;
• strengthening the structuring of processing industries and their…
