PFAS: Notre Affaire A Tous and Générations Futures refer to the Conseil d'État "in the face of inaction".

"One year after the adoption of the PFAS law, the government is choosing inaction over protecting the health of the French people. We are appealing to the Council of State to ensure that the law is finally applied with the rigour and ambition required by this major health and environmental crisis", stated Nadine Lauverjat, General Delegate of the French environmental association Générations Futures, on 26/02/2026.

This appeal for "abuse of power", which News Tank was able to consult, was lodged by Générations Futures and Notre Affaire à Tous, one year after the adoption of the French PFAS law. This law provides for France to adopt a "national trajectory for the progressive reduction of aqueous discharges of PFAS by industrial installations".

However, the two associations believe that the implementing decree, published in haste on 08/09/2025 before the Bayrou government's resignation, does not define the methods for achieving this reduction, which they say "seriously jeopardises the law's objective of ceasing PFAS emissions within four years".
