World Giverny Forum: "Without water, you are unable to do business" (Marie-Claire Daveu, Kering)

"In the textile industry, without water, you are not able to do business, says Marie-Claire Daveu, Chief Sustainability Officer of Kering, at the World Giverny Forum inaugural event in Brussels on 17/02/2026. Last year, we decided to have a specific strategy for water. We want to be net zero by 2050. But before that, we want really to be net zero for 10 basins by 2035."

"When it comes to the environment and the water sector, there is a big gap in the funding and investments needed. We welcome the fact that the European Investment Bank put in 15 Bn in the next three years to invest in water", declares Jessika Roswall, Commissioner for Environment, Water Resilience and a Competitive Circular Economy. "We invested in the water infrastructure as well, which is a security threat, through the cohesion fund. But public money will never be enough."
