The European Investment Bank provided €5.1Bn in financing for climate action and environmental sustainability outside the European Union in 2025, equal to 57% of EIB Global financing, according to its impact report, released on 12 October 2026.

These funds are part of the 2021-2025 Climate Bank Roadmap, under which the EIB Group is committed to “aligning all new operations with the Paris Agreement and dedicating at least half its lending to climate and environmental objectives”. The Group presented its Adaptation Plan Phase 2 on 22/10/2026.

The impact report states that the bank supports climate adaptation and resilience, with €800M of financing in 2025. This includes projects to make water supply systems more climate-resilient in Ecuador, The Gambia, Guinea, India, Morocco and Malawi.
