Textiles/Circularity: Primark and Circ partner on recycled polyester from textile waste

Global recycler Circ and retailer Primark have partnered to bring recycled polyester made from textile waste into Primark clothing, with availability targeted for 2029, the companies announced on 28 September 2026.

For Primark, it is the first multi-year purchase commitment with a company that turns old textiles into new fibres, and is meant to reduce its dependence on newly produced polyester.

The recycled polyester will come from Circ's commercial facility, planned to be located in Saint-Avold (Meuse, Grand Est region, France) which the company presents as its first at industrial scale. Circ, a start-up based in Virginia (USA), submitted applications for planning permission and an environmental permit in July 2026 for this €500 million project, which is scheduled to commence production…
