SBP: Andrew Georgiou appointed as Director of Communications and External Affairs

Andrew Georgiou has been appointed as Director of Communications and External Affairs of the Sustainable Biomass Program (SBP), the organisation announced on 23 September 2026.

In this new role, he will head SBP's communications, stakeholder engagement and external relations work, helping deliver the organisation's five-year strategy and its aim of building a sustainable and trusted circular bioeconomy.

He takes up the position on 1 November 2026, moving from the Advanced Woody Biomass Alliance (AWBA), where he currently holds the title of Vice President, Global Policy.

Georgiou brings over 15 years' experience in the energy, sustainability and climate fields, having previously held senior policy and regulatory positions at Enviva and E.ON.
