EASAC: Paulo Ferrão appointed as the new co-chair of the energy steering panel

Paulo Ferrão is appointed as the new co-chair of the European Academies' Science Advisory Council (EASAC) energy steering panel, the organization announced on 21 September 2026.

He succeeds Neven Duić, who will continue to serve as the Panel's representative of the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts.

The steering panel advises the Program Director, the Board, and the Council on the scientific scope, strategic significance, value, and viability of proposed reports and other EASAC output. The Panel meets normally twice a year to discuss the latest issues of concern to the Energy science community, general strategy, and decisions on project proposals.
