FR / IGN: signing of a performance agreement for 2025-2029 with the Ministry for Ecological Transition

Monique Barbut, Minister for Ecological Transition, Biodiversity and International Climate and Nature Negotiations, signed the COP 2025-2029 (Objectives and Performance Contract, or Performance Agreement) for the French public National Institute for Geographic and Forest Information (IGN) on 20 July 2026, according to a statement issued by the Ministries of Spatial Planning and Ecological Transition on 4 September 2026. This contract was also signed by Frédéric Gueudar-Delahaye, Chair of the IGN Board of Directors, and Sébastien Soriano, Director-General of the institute.

“As the national reference cartographer, the IGN is currently undergoing significant change: whilst building on its core expertise, it has for several years been undertaking a profound transformation of its model against a backdrop marked by the digital revolution, the intensifying effects of climate change and the resurgence of issues relating to sovereignty and defence.”
