Forest Fires in France: A. Cornet and A. Grezaud appointed to lead the regional adaptation task force

Anne Cornet and Antoine Grezaud, co-directors of the task force -

Anne Cornet, Inspector-General of the Administration, and Antoine Grezaud, Inspector for the Environment and Sustainable Development, have been appointed to lead an French interministerial task force for the reconstruction and adaptation of the areas affected by the forest fires during the summer of 2026, for a period of six months, by a decree dated 11 August 2026, published in the Official Journal on 12 August.

Three other qualified individuals form part of this task force: Matthieu Guerlain, Louis Moreau de Saint-Martin and Yves Ducos.

The task force was announced by French Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu on 6 August and is intended to accelerate and facilitate reconstruction, provide economic support and assist the population in areas affected by forest and vegetation fires. It will…
