FR / Floating wind power: €260 million in public funding earmarked for port infrastructure

The French government is releasing €260 million to fund floating wind projects in five French ports, according to the Ministry of Energy and the Ministry of Transport on 30 July 2026.

The Government has selected projects at the ports of Cherbourg (Manche), Brest (Finistère), Nantes-Saint-Nazaire (Loire-Atlantique), Port-la-Nouvelle (Aude) and Marseille-Fos (Bouches-du-Rhône). These grants are being awarded as part of the France 2030 investment programme and a call for projects launched in 2024.

They are intended to support the development of floating wind power through the construction of quays, embankments and access roads, in order to adapt the infrastructure to the sizes of the very large components characteristic of this technology.
