Circular Economy: EU Commission publishes five research and innovation project reports

The EU Commission published a set of five research and innovation projects reports supporting the upcoming Circular Economy Act, on 28/07/2026.

These reports are based on findings from EU-funded Research and Innovation projects under Horizon Europe. They pinpoint the main obstacles and enablers for scaling up circular economy solutions across regions, across borders, and within specific sectors and material flows.

Each report covers one of the following thematic areas:
1. circular public procurement
2. extended producer responsibility
3. recycled and bio-based content and end-of-waste criteria
4. waste electrical and electronic equipment and the recovery of critical raw materials
