The European Commission clears acquisition of Scholz Group by Derichebourg Environnement

The European Commission has approved, under the EU Merger Regulation, the acquisition of sole control of the Scholz Recycling Group of Germany, by Derichebourg Environnement SAS of France, on 24/07/2026. 100% of the stocks of the Scholz Recycling Group had been put on the market by its parent company, Chiho Environmental Group Limited of Hong Kong.

This strategic move, announced on 5 May 2026 by Derichebourg (€3,3 bn turnover in 2025), forms part of the French Group’s international growth strategy, which aims to consolidate its position as a global leader in metal waste recycling. Founded in 1872, Scholz Recycling is one of Europe’s leading metal recycling companies.
