Floating wind power: NGE joins BW Ideol’s Fos3F floating foundation plant project

BW Ideol announced a 50-50 joint venture with NGE for the Fos3F project on 23 July 2026.

The Fos3F project, initially launched by BW Ideol, aims to build and operate a factory producing concrete floats for floating wind turbines based on the patented ‘Damping Pool’ technology in Fos-sur-Mer (Bouches-du-Rhône). The production line is designed to produce around 30 floats per year, with a capacity of approximately 500 MW.

BW Ideol and NGE have submitted a joint bid in response to the call for proposals issued by the Grand Port Maritime de Marseille, concerning the provision of 30 hectares of land and 400 linear metres of quay at Fos-sur-Mer.
