Launch of France Forêt 2100, a state-backed start-up set up to mobilise further funding; development of the Low-Carbon Label and biodiversity credits; creation of a Green Reserve Label; earmarking of €100 million for forests under the Green Fund 2027: these are the main initiatives announced by Monique Barbut, Minister (who has since resigned) for Ecological Transition, and by Mathieu Lefèvre, Minister of State, in Paris on 21 July 2026.

“Whilst fires have already swept across nearly 40,000 hectares since the start of the year - more than in the whole of 2025 - this meeting marked the launch of a new phase in the national effort to restore the affected mountain ranges, adapt forests to climate change and diversify the funding allocated to them,” the ministry announced.
