FR: “The Green Fund will be increased to €1 Bn by 2027” (M. Barbut, Minister for Ecological Transition)

Monique Barbut announced that “ the Green Fund will be increased to €1 billion” by 2027, with “ priority given to adapting to climate change, particularly in public buildings”, in an interview with the French media La Tribune Dimanche on 18 July 2026.

“The environment will see the biggest budget increase after the defence budget. This sends a strong signal,” she continued.

According to the offprint issued pursuant to Article 48 of the LOLF, published on 15 July 2026 by the Ministry of Public Action and Accounts (David Amiel) and obtained by News Tank, the ‘Sustainable Ecology, Development and Mobility’ programme is set to increase by €1.5 billion to €30.3 billion, with the Green Fund listed among the climate change adaptation measures described as ‘strengthened’.
