“The Eastern Mediterranean is widely recognised as one of the world's climate change hotspots”, states a new report released by the Cyprus Academy of Sciences, Letters and Arts, in cooperation with the European Academies’ Science Advisory Council (EASAC) and the Network of African Science Academies (NASAC).

The report, entitled "The Eastern Mediterranean Marine Environment Under Climate Pressure: Risks, Impacts, and Priorities for Action", was produced by an International High-Level Expert Group and builds on earlier work carried out through the Eastern Mediterranean and Middle East Climate Change Initiative (EMME-CCI), including its Marine Environment and Resources Task Force. Funding came through a competitive InterAcademy Partnership (IAP) grant.
