France 2030: a call for proposals to “develop national capacities for geological CO₂ storage”

"AGIBaC" (Acquisition of Geological Data for Low-Carbon Industries) is the name of the call for projects launched as part of France 2030. Its aim is to “gain a better understanding of the country’s subsurface - both offshore and onshore - and to test innovative methods of geological CO₂ storage”, announced the General Secretariat for Investment (SGPI) on 2 July 2026.

Managed on behalf of the State by Ademe and open until 10 December 2026, this call for projects is structured around four main areas:
• "conducting CO₂ injection tests in depleted hydrocarbon reservoirs to collect data and characterise different types of geological layers;
• conducting 2D and 3D seismic surveys to identify potential reservoirs and refine estimates of storage capacity;
