FR / Île-de-France: Emmanuelle Gay reappointed as head of the DRIEAT

Emmanuelle Gay has been reappointed as Regional and Interdepartmental Director for the Environment, Territorial Planning and Transport in Île-de-France (Paris region), according to a decree published in the Official Journal on 27 June 2026.

She served as Chief of Staff to Amélie de Montchalin from 30 June to 4 July 2022, whilst the latter was Minister for Ecological Transition and Territorial Cohesion.

The Île-de-France Drieat was formed in April 2021 through the merger of two regional and interdepartmental directorates: the Directorate for the Environment and Energy (Driee), which is a decentralised department of the Ministry for Ecological Transition, and the one responsible for Infrastructure and Territorial Planning (Driea).

“This vast decentralised service comprises 2,200 staff: 430 at the Driee, 800 at the Driea and 900 at the DiRIF, which remains firmly rooted in specific geographical areas due to its responsibilities”, the Driee told News Tank in April 2021.
