FR / Cerema: Étienne Crépon appointed as Director-General

Étienne Crépon is appointed as Director-General of Cerema (French Centre for Research and Expertise on Risks, the Environment, Mobility and Planning) by a decree published in the Official Journal on 26/06/2026.

He succeeds Pascal Berteaud, who had held the post since May 2018.

Étienne Crépon served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Centre scientifique et technique du bâtiment (CSTB) for two terms (2014-2026). Jonathan Sebbane succeeds him as Chairman of the CSTB.

He is an engineer specialising in civil engineering, water resources and forestry, having graduated from the École Polytechnique (1990) and the École nationale des ponts et chaussées (1993).

The Director-General of Cerema is appointed for a four-year term by decree of the President of the Republic. Their term of office is renewable once.
