IFOAM Organics Europe: election of a new board of the 2026-2029 mandate ; Dóra Drexler president

The new board for the 2026-2029 mandate is elected by IFOAM Organics Europe members. Dóra Drexler, director of the Hungarian Research Institute of Organic Agriculture is appointed as president and Jérôme Cinel from Interbio Nouvelle-Aquitaine in France and Marian Blom from Bionext in the Netherlands, as vice-presidents, announced the European organic food and farming movement, on 24/06/2026.

"Organic is part of the solution to many of the challenges facing Europe today", the new president said. "By strengthening farmers' resilience, reducing dependency on external inputs, supporting rural communities and delivering environmental benefits, organic contributes to a more competitive and secure future for European agri-food systems".

The General Assembly also provided an occasion for the organisation to question Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Christophe Hansen about the future of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP).The IFOAM statement "urges EU institutions and Member States to maintain a high level of ambition for organic farming within the CAP post-2027".
