Textiles: launch of a circularity loop linking France, Spain and Andorra, funded by the EU

A project to establish a cross-border circular textile circularity loop - from the collection of used textiles to their transformation into new resources - has been launched between France, Andorra and Spain, announced the consortium of 11 partners behind the initiative on 16/06/2026.

Over the next three years, the partners (research centres, manufacturers, recycling specialists and local stakeholders) will work to improve the collection, sorting, recycling and processing of textile materials, whilst developing new industrial applications capable of sustainably integrating recycled materials.

“The work carried out as part of the project, known as CircularTexEFA, will in particular enable the exploration of new applications in sectors such as textiles, furniture and other industrial uses,” they explain. Beyond these objectives, the aim is also “to strengthen the region’s capacity to make better use of its textile resources and to limit the export of materials that can still be reused”.
