EU's annual draft budget for 2027: €57,2 Bn out of €200 Bn allocated to natural resources and environment

€57,3 Bn are allocated in commitments to Natural resources and environment (heading 3), out of a total of €200 Bn (28,7%), according to the EU draft budget 2027, proposed by the European Commission, on 10/06/2026.

This heading "is key to fulfilling the ambitions of the European Green Deal, the Vision for Agriculture and Food, the Competitiveness compass, and EU policies on water, nature, pollution, and circularity as well as the commitments of the Climate Law on climate change and the Sustainable Development Goals", specifies the document.

Also :
• "it contributes to the objectives of REPowerEU, the Net Zero Industry Act, the STEP initiative to secure the Union’s long-term competitiveness in critical technologies and the Clean Industrial Deal ;
• it covers direct support to farmers, investments in sustainable agriculture, fisheries and aquaculture sectors, aiming for a safe high-quality food supply, through modern agricultural, fisheries and maritime policies and providing the necessary flexibility in uncertain times ;
