Renewable hydrogen: Engie and European Energy partnering to develop 150 MW in Denmark

Engie and European Energy announce the conclusion of a cooperation agreement to develop a renewable hydrogen production project in Denmark on 09/06/2026. The two companies are aiming for a commercial start-up date of around 2030.

The agreement provides for collaboration between Engie and European Energy in the next stages of the project's development. Engie gains the right to market more than 20,000 tonnes of renewable hydrogen per year under the agreement.

" Engie's ambition is to support its customers in their transition towards decarbonisation and to offer them renewable or low-carbon hydrogen at competitive prices. The Power-to-X plant in Kassø, developed by European Energy, a pioneering partner in the large-scale production of renewable hydrogen, will enable Engie to strengthen its offer to its German customers from 2030 onwards", according to Henri Domenach, Managing Director of Energy Management at Engie.
