FR / Manufactures nationales: "Meeting the environmental challenge is essential" (Hervé Lemoine)

"We are, by nature, the opposite of mass production, one of the major factors in the depletion of natural resources and energy consumption. On the other hand, it is essential for us that our entire ecosystem embraces these principles of eco-responsibility and sustainability. Taking up the environmental challenge is not optional: it's an essential transformation", Hervé Lemoine, Chairman of the French Manufactures nationales, told News Tank on 05/06/2026.

To support small workshops, "which do not always have the resources to innovate or experiment with more virtuous alternatives", the Manufactures created the Laboratoire des Pratiques Durables in January 2025, with the support of the Bettencourt-Schueller Foundation.

The aim is to "stimulate research and innovation in biomaterials and eco-materials, in order to replace solvents, mordants and other polluting substances with eco-responsible alternatives", explains the Chairman.
