FR / SNBC 3: electronic public consultation open from 05/06 to 05/07/2026

The electronic public consultation on the draft third edition of the French National Low-Carbon Strategy (SNBC3) is now open, announced Monique Barbut, Minister for Ecological Transition, Biodiversity and International Negotiations on Climate and Nature, on 05/06/2026.

Through this consultation, open until 05/07, the Government is "reaffirming its desire to involve French society on a broad scale in the development of public policies for ecological transition, with the aim of transparency and citizen participation".

This step is part of a series of formal consultations conducted since the beginning of 2026, as well as the national consultation conducted at the end of 2024 and dedicated exchanges with working groups co-chaired by Members of Parliament and local elected representatives, convened in 2023.

This work has led to changes since the December 2025 version of the draft SNBC. These include:
• clarifications to the timetable for phasing out fossil fuels and the role of electrification;
