Think 2026: "Financing France's transitions: A huge challenge, not an impossible one" (M. Douillet, I4CE)

"The energy transition represents a huge investment challenge that is not impossible", said Maia Douillet, a researcher at the Institut de l'économie pour le climat (I4CE, a French climate research institute), during the duet entitled "La transition énergétique, un mur d'investissement à franchir", at Think Energies 2026 organised at Sorbonne University (Paris, 5^th arrondissement), on 04/06/2026, by News Tank Energies.

She was speaking alongside Benoît Thirion, a partner in the Energy & Infrastructure practice at Paul Hastings, in a duet entitled "La transition énergétique, un mur d'investissement à franchir" ("The energy transition: an investment wall to overcome").

According to the work of I4CE, €102 Bn was invested in the climate in France in 2024. These investments need to be increased by €87 Bn between now and 2030 to meet our decarbonisation targets.
