Offshore wind power/Atis project: "No benefits for Corsicans, that's not acceptable" (Femu a Corsica)

" [Le mega projet Atis] will have no energy or economic benefits for Corsicans, and we cannot accept that", declared François Martinetti, national secretary of Femu a Corsica, a Corsican autonomist political party, on 26/05/2028.

The "Atis" project to deploy a floating wind farm in the Ligurian Sea, in Italian waters to the north-east of Cap Corse, is being carried out by Atis Floating Wind S.r.l, a subsidiary of Eni Plenitude. The wind farm will have a capacity of 864 MW, with 48 floating wind turbines installed over an area of 264 km2, at depths of between -250 and -630 m.

" Today, we are not convinced by the gigantic scale of the project. We want to take another look at the gigantic scale of the project, and then discuss it", adds François Martinetti.

Although located in waters under Italian sovereignty and jurisdiction, the project would be in the immediate vicinity of the French territorial sea, 27 km from Cap Corse. France has therefore been asked by Italy to take part in the environmental assessment of the project. The conclusions of the public enquiry will be attached to the…
