Vallourec: Memorandum of Understanding with Syngular Solutions to develop common CCUS and BECCS projects

Vallourec announces the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Syngular Solutions, a Brazilian engineering and consulting company, founded in 2019, specializing in bioenergy with carbon capture and storage (BECCS) and carbon capture, utilization and storage (CCUS) projects, on 22/05/2026.

The agreement aims to structure carbon capture and geological storage (CCUS) initiatives in the country, drawing on Vallourec's technical expertise and Syngular Solutions' know-how in the ethanol sector and geological reservoirs suitable for CO₂ storage. Another part of the agreement, BECCS enables the CO₂ emitted by biomass energy systems to be captured and permanently stored in geological formations (depleted oil reservoirs, deep saline aquifers), thereby generating negative net emissions.
