"Plastic Energy has informed us of its situation, which does not prevent us from operating the unit. We have all the necessary licences and our priority is to ramp up the Grandpuits chemical plastic recycling plant", a TotalEnergies spokeswoman told News Tank on 26/05/2026. In addition, "we will launch SAF production at Grandpuits at the end of 2026".

TotalEnergies' Spanish-British partner, whose TAC technology is used to produce TACOIL at the Zero Emission refinery in Grandpuits (Seine-et-Marne), has been in administration in the UK since 12/05/2026 due to serious cash flow problems.

While the UK administrators are looking for buyers for the primary assets, patents and shares held in the Group's subsidiaries by the UK parent company, plants and operating entities in other countries are not affected by the court order.

Plastic Energy S.L.U., the company that owns and operates the two plastic recycling plants in Seville and Almería, Spain, has not been the subject of any insolvency proceedings and these plants continue to operate normally. Today, the Group's 200 employees (in the…
