Climate finance: 100 Bn$ goal exceeded for the third year in a row (OECD report)

Climate finance has continued to grow with developed countries providing and mobilising 132.8 Bn$ in climate finance for developing countries in 2023 and 136.7 Bn$ in 2024, according to new OECD data, released by the organisation on 21/05/2026.

The latest report, named Climate Finance Provided and Mobilised by Developed Countries in 2013-2024, shows that the 100 Bn$ goal, already exceeded in 2022 with 115.9 Bn$, was surpassed again in both 2023 and 2024 by a growing margin.

Since 2015, the OECD has tracked progress towards the goal agreed under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) in 2009 to mobilise 100 Bn$ per year by 2020 to help developing countries mitigate and adapt to climate change, which was subsequently extended to 2025.
