FR / Natural hydrogen: Mantle8 raises €31m to finance exploration and drilling

Mantle8 raises €31m to fund its natural hydrogen exploration and drilling campaign, the company announced on 13/05/2026.

The funding has been raised from several investment funds: Sandwater, Breakthrough Energy Ventures, the Ecotechnologies 2 fund managed on behalf of the French government by Bpifrance, IP Group, Wind Capital and Calderion (an investment platform supported by Audacia).

" This capital will be deployed over the next two years to finance the world's most advanced natural hydrogen exploration and drilling campaign. Mantle8's new technology platform, designed to identify commercially viable natural hydrogen reservoirs, will be used across its global development pipeline to identify and rank the most promising opportunities. These sites will then be drilled to confirm natural hydrogen accumulations and assess reservoir volume, purity and quality for large-scale commercial production," stated the company.
