French Central administration: Cédric Bourillet appointed Director General for Energy and Climate

Cédric Bourillet has been appointed Director General for Energy and Climate (DGEC) at the central administration of the Ministry for Ecological Transition, the Ministry of the Economy, and the Ministry of Transport, following the Council of Ministers meeting of 29/04/2026, by decree published in the Official Journal on 30/04.

As of 01/05/2026, he will succeed Sophie Mourlon, who, at her request, has wished to leave these duties, which she has held since July 2023.

Cédric Bourillet was previously Director General for Risk Prevention at the Ministry of Ecological Transition since 2018. There, he was also head of the environmental health risks, waste and diffuse pollution department from 2016 to 2018. Cédric Bourillet graduated from École Polytechnique and Mines Paris.

The DGEC is responsible for developing and implementing policy on energy, energy raw materials, and the fight against global warming and air pollution.
