EU LIFE Programme: launch of the calls for proposals 2026, with €601,5M available

The EU LIFE Programme 2026 Calls for proposals have been launched to support EU measures to increase competitiveness, close the innovation gap and decarbonise the economy, announced the European Commission on 22/04/2026.

"In addition, it will help reduce strategic dependencies — especially on fossil fuels — and enhance the overall resilience of energy systems".

The Commission specified that €601,5M are available for 2026.

The following standard action projects (SAPs) can be funded :
• Nature and Biodiversity - €166M ;
• Nature Governance - €7.5M ;
• Circular Economy and Zero Pollution - €79M ;
• Environmental Governance - €6.5M ;
• Climate Change Adaptation - €28M ;
• Climate Change Mitigation - €28M ;
• Climate Governance - €4M.

The deadline for submission is 22/09/2026 for SAPs.

The calls for proposals also included clean energy transition projects (€85,5M), and specific operating grant agreements for NGOs (€15M), Projects on Legislative and Policy Priorities (€18M).
