Pascal Berteaud has been appointed interim Director General of the French public agency Cerema, with effect from 27/04/2026, by order of the Minister for Ecological Transition, Biodiversity and International Negotiations on Climate and Nature, the Minister for Transport and the Minister for Cities and Housing dated 14/04/2026 and published in the Journal officiel of 22/04.

An Ingénieur général des ponts, des eaux et des forêts, Pascal Berteaud had already held the position of Director General of Cerema since May 2018. Having already served two four-year terms, he is not eligible for re-election. A vacancy notice for the post was published in the French Journal Official on 01/02/2026.

Pascal Berteaud was previously General Coordinator for Ecological Transition Contracts at the Ministry of the same name since September 2017. Prior to that, he was chief of staff of the Les Républicains group (2015-2017), director general of the IGN (2012-2014), and deputy director of the cabinet of the Ministry of Ecology (2010-2012).
