Public charging stations: "Making Engie Vianeo one of Europe's top five players" (Nicolas Cournu, Engie)

"Our ambition is to make Engie Vianeo one of the top five European players in public charging by 2030. To achieve this goal, we are aiming to deploy around 25,000 charging points in Europe, including 1,000 dedicated to heavy goods vehicles," Nicolas Cournu, CEO of Engie Vianeo, told News Tank on 13/04/2026.

"Today, we already have around 11,000 charging points, including 4,000 in France and 7,000 in Belgium. They are mainly slow charging points in Belgium, whereas half of the French charging points are dedicated to ultra-fast charging", he adds.

The first electric charging concession in Wallonia (Belgium) was won by Engie Vianeo in March 2026. Between now and 2028, it plans to install around 3,000 charging points, or 1,625 charging stations, in 242 of the 261 municipalities in Wallonia.

The CEO points out that the company is also working in Germany and Spain, and that it is present in the Netherlands, "but in an energy manager role, testing grid flexibility solutions in particular".
