World Migratory Bird Day 2026: turning birdwatching into community science across the Globe

The World Migratory Bird Day 2026 will take place on 09/05 and 10/10/2026 and "will spotlight the important role of community science in the conservation of migratory birds", announced its founding partners on 14/04/2026.

Among these partners, one can notably count the Convention on the Conservation of Migratory Species of Wild Animals (CMS), the Agreement on the Conservation of African-Eurasian Migratory Waterbirds (AEWA), the East Asian-Australasian Flyway Partnership (EAAFP), and Environment for the Americas (EFTA).

"Under the theme “Every Bird Counts - Your Observations Matter!”, the 2026 campaign focuses on how individual observations and participation in community science programs help generate knowledge that supports science, conservation, and policy-making across the world’s flyways", they said.
