Report (FR) : "Réussir la transition dans l'incertitude" (Shift Project)

"France must simultaneously mobilise all levers for decarbonisation": this is one of the conclusions of the study ", published by The Shift Project on 14/04/2026.

The Shift Project has identified 20 priority areas for decarbonisation in France, in the transport, housing, digital, industry, agriculture and energy sectors. Five other lessons can be drawn from this work:
• France can succeed in decarbonising its economy if it makes this a political and economic priority from the next five years onwards;
• Massive electrification of equipment is essential to decarbonise the economy;
• It implies a sharp increase in low-carbon electricity production, including nuclear and renewable energies;
• Controlling energy consumption is necessary to avoid tensions;
• Decarbonisation requires a major transformation of skills and employment, with changing training and recruitment needs.
