European Financial Reporting Advisory Group: K. Lopatta appointed as Sustainability Reporting Board Chair

"Kerstin Lopatta is appointed Chair of the EFRAG Sustainability Reporting Board, effective from 01/05/2026 for a term of three years", announces the european financial reporting group on 14/04/2026, following a General Assembly meeting on 13/04/2026.

"Her appointment is timely as the European Commission expects to adopt the delegated act on simplified ESRS (European Sustainability Reporting Standards) and the delegated act on the voluntary standard by the end of June", declares Benoit Jaspar, Administrative Board President of EFRAG.

"One of the tasks of EFRAG will be to provide implementation support on simplified ESRS."

Kerstin Lopatta has been a Professor of Accounting, Auditing and Sustainability at the University of Hamburg since 2018 and also acted as the Chair of Accounting, Auditing and Sustainability there.
