75,36 €: this is the first quarterly price of CBAM certificates, as issued by the European Commission on 07/04/2026.

This price, which applies for all importations under CBAM during the first quarter on 2026, reflects the average price of EU Emissions Trading System (EU ETS) allowances during the quarter. ETS allowances, which, unlike CBAM certificates, can be traded on marketplaces, are priced at 71,37€ (per allowance, ie per ton of emitted CO2) as of 07/04/2026.

In 2026, the Commission will calculate and publish 4 quarterly prices, one for each calendar quarter. From 2027 onwards, the Commission will calculate and publish weekly prices.

For transparency and operational purposes, publication will take place both on the European Commission’s CBAM webpage and in the CBAM Registry.

The DG TAXUD also added that "additional steps for the implementation of CBAM are ongoing. The call for tenders for the Common Central Platform, which will manage the sale and repurchase of CBAM certificates, has been closed on 06/04/2026."
