FR / Comité National de la Biodiversité : 9 new members appointed

9 new members have been appointed to the French Comité National de la Biodiversité (CNB), by order of the Minister for Ecological Transition of 17/03/2026, published in the Journal officiel of 27/03.

Each member, titular as well as alternate, is appointed for five years.

Created by the law of 08/08/2016 relating to the reconquest of biodiversity, nature and landscapes, the CNB is the body for information, exchange and consultation on strategic issues relating to biodiversity. It may be consulted by the Government on any subject relating to biodiversity or having a significant effect on it.

The committee is "composed of at least 120 and at most 150 members divided into 9 colleges", representing :
• local authorities and their groupings;
• national public bodies working in the field of biodiversity;
• relevant socio-professional bodies;
• landowners; nature users;
• associations, bodies or foundations working to preserve biodiversity;
• managers of natural areas;
• scientists or representatives of research bodies;
• qualified personalities.
