Aristotelis Chantavas will take over as the new chief executive of Terna Energy, a subsidiary of Masdar (Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company), on 30/03/2026, announced the company. He will succeed Manolis Maragoudakis, who has been leading the company for thirty years.

Aristotelis Chantavas's former role was CEO of Principia Energy, a joint venture between Enel Group and Macquarie Asset Management, for over two years after being head of the Europe area of the Enel Group since 2018. Additionally, Chantavas has been President of SolarPower Europe since March 2020. He served at Global Energy Services (GES) for eight years, between 2009 and 2018, in Athens and Chicago, and was project director of EDF between 2006 and 2009.

His ambition in his new CEO role at Terna Energy is "to build the leading renewable energy company in Eastern Europe and to contribute meaningfully to Masdar’s global mission of accelerating the energy transition", he writes on LinkedIn.
