European Commission: a call for interest to participate in the Bioeconomy Investment Deployment Group

The European Commission launched a call for interest to participate in the European Bioeconomy Investment Deployment Group, on 10/03/2026. This new platform will gather the European Commission, the European Investment Bank Group, national promotional banks, private financial institutions and selected investors.

The aim is to "mobilise coordinated public and private investment to scale up bio-based industries and improve financing tools, such as risk-sharing and blended finance", specifies the Commission.

This initiative follows the adoption of the Strategic Framework for a Competitive and Sustainable EU Bioeconomy on November 2025. It also responds to findings from the European Investment Bank’s report 'Scaling up Europe’s bio-based industries', which highlights "both the scale of the investment opportunity and the persistence of financing gaps, in particular for demonstration and first-of-a-kind industrial facilities".

Interested organizations will have to confirm their interest by the 20/03/2026.
