Copa-Cogeca: Caroline Van der Heyden elected at the Working Party on Environment and Climate

Caroline Van der Heyden is elected 2^nd Vice-chair of the Working Party on Environment and Climate of Copa-Cogeca, announced the European confederation of farmers and cooperatives on 10/03/2026.

She joins Chair Amanda Björksell (LRF - Lantbrukarnas Riksförbund, Sweden) and 1^st Vice-Chair John Murphy (IFA, Ireland) to strengthen the group’s leadership.

In her new role, Caroline will focus in particular on key policy files such as the Water Framework Directive, permitting procedures, and the Industrial Emissions Directive (IED).

Since 2018, Caroline Van der Heyden acts as a Environmental Policy advisor to the Belgian farmer's union Boerenbond. She holds a PhD in Bio-science Engineering / Environmental technology from Ghent University.
