FR / Biodiversity: launch of a public consultation dedicated to the "Acting for Nature restoration" plan

An ongoing public consultation dedicated to the national "Acting for Nature restoration" plan, open to "collect observations, comments and proposals on the work in progress", was launched on 02/03/2026.

This national consultation, led by the Ministry for Ecological Transition and organised under the aegis of the National Commission for Public Debate (CNDP), follows a preliminary consultation of the general public between 23/05 and 23/08/2025.

This initial work was summarised by the CNDP for the MTE, "which is working on proposals for the content of the plan" 'Acting for Nature restoration'. The new consultation, open until 31/03/2026, will enable the general public to be informed and to participate in the development of the plan, between the preliminary consultation and electronic participation stages".

The "Acting for Nature restoration" plan aims to "restore or maintain functional ecosystems. At French level, it translates the European regulation on nature restoration, which came into force in 2024. The European regulation obliges members to jointly restore at least 20% of the EU's…
