Industrial Accelerator Act: "We incorporate a 'Made in Europe' preference in EU laws" (S. Séjourné)

"The Industrial Accelerator Act represents a complete change in the European doctrine when it comes to protecting our industries. In an ultra-competitive context, and faced with a decline in European production (currently representing 14.3% of our GDP), our objective is clear: we need to bring industry back to 20% of our GDP by 2035", declared Stéphane Séjourné, European Commissioner for Prosperity and Industrial Competitiveness, at the presentation of the IAA on 04/03/2026 in Brussels.

"To achieve this, we need to protect our strategic sectors from the aggressive practices of certain competitor countries: dumping, high subsidies, unfair practices, etc. This requires 'Made in Europe', and European preference in certain strategic sectors, as well as in our cleantechs".
