LNG: Technip Energies wins a "major" contract (worth more than €1 billion) from QatarEnergy

Technip Energies has been awarded a "major" contract, i.e., one with revenues of over €1 billion, by QatarEnergy for the "North Field West" LNG project, announced the French technology and engineering group on 25/02/2026.

The contract, signed on behalf of the T.ENCCCGAC JV led by Technip Energies alongside Consolidated Contractors Company and Gulf Asia Contracting, covers the engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning of the onshore liquefied natural gas facilities.

The contract covers the delivery of two mega-tankers with a capacity of eight million tonnes per annum of gas. This project, combined with the other North Field East (NFE) and South (NFS) projects, will increase Qatar's total LNG export capacity from 77 Mtpa to 142 Mtpa.

"Like the NFE and NFS projects, the NFW project will capture and sequester an additional 1.1 Mtpa of CO2, bringing the total for NFS and NFW combined to 2.2M."
