Christophe Strobel has been appointed Head of the research and innovation (R&I) department at the Commissariat général du développement durable (CGDD), for three years, by an order dated 24/02/2026, published in the Journal officiel of 26/02.

From 16/03, he will succeed Thierry Courtine, who has held the post since February 2020. After two three-year terms, Courtine has reached the six-year renewal limit.

A graduate of ENS Cachan in economics and management and of ÉNA (now INSP), Christophe Strobel began his career at the Ministry of the Armed Forces in 2004 as an analyst in energy supply security.

In 2008, he became technical adviser to the DG, then representative of the Ministry of Defence at the French Embassy in Rome. In 2014, he was appointed head of office for energy issues.

He joined the Directorate-General for Enterprise in 2018, first as deputy head of office for innovation and industrial property, then as project director for "Disruptive innovation and industrialisation of R&D". Since October 2022, he has been deputy director of tourism.
