France : a tool based on the donut theory to "steer the ecological and social transformation" of the UTT

The University of Technology of Troyes has developed a sustainability 'donut' to guide its ecological and social transformation, the French university announced on 16/02/2026. Named DonUTT, it is intended to become the 'compass' for UTT's SD&RS master plan.

Inspired by economist Kate Raworth's model, the DonUTT is "both a governance tool and an educational tool. It has been designed to make complex issues understandable and shareable, while providing the university with a structured diagnosis of its impact, identifying its room for manoeuvre and guiding its strategic choices over time", says UTT.

"It helps to prioritise and guide decisions, particularly in terms of mobility, management of property and green spaces, energy efficiency and quality of life at work."

"The results, based on data from 2025, show that some of the planet's limits have already been exceeded, particularly in terms of climate change, land artificialisation and biodiversity."
